A Special Note from Coach Luke

When I first started teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, our entire adult program was small—only about 20 max students training together regularly at our first location. Looking back, this was my first mastery group: a tight-knit group of people committed to learning, growing, and helping one another improve.

Over the years, I have produced 21 BJJ black belts.
What means even more to me is that 14 of them came from that original group of about 20 students.

In Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, it’s often said that only about 10% of students reach blue belt, and roughly 1% go on to earn their black belt. So seeing that many people from one small community continue all the way through the journey says something important about the kind of environment we had.

It wasn’t just the techniques. It was the commitment to the process, the consistency of training together, and the culture of learning and supporting one another.

Now almost 30 years later with well over 100 Adult BJJ students alone, The BJJ Mastery Program is an attempt to intentionally recreate that kind of environment again.

A small group of students who train with purpose, help sharpen one another, and pursue mastery together—not just on the mat, but in the way they approach life.
